Finance Manager (FP&A) – Funds Management Business Performance
Be a trusted partner in shaping the future of Funds Management at Challenger.

We’re looking for a commercially minded and collaborative Finance Manager to join our high-performing Funds Management Performance & Analytics team. This is a strategic, hands-on role where you’ll partner with senior leaders to drive business performance, deliver insights, and influence decision-making at the highest levels.

We work flexibly from our Sydney CBD office, typically 3 days in-office and 2 days from home.

This is a role with real breadth—balancing business-as-usual reporting with forward-looking strategy and commercial partnering. You’ll lead the budgeting and rolling forecasting process across Funds Management and be involved in monthly management reporting.
You’ll be a go-to finance partner for Funds management, helping shape new business cases, challenge assumptions, and bring clarity to complexity—partnering closely with Fidante and the broader Funds Management team.

  • Leading forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning processes across Funds Management and affiliates.

  • Delivering high-quality analysis and strategic insights to senior stakeholders, including variance & trend analysis, scenario modelling, and performance commentary.

  • Driving automation and continuous improvement using platforms like Anaplan, Workiva, and Workday.

  • Enhance sales profitability analysis & platforms to inform growth strategies.

  • Assist with transactions and financial due diligence.

  • Partnering with Investor Relations and senior leaders to align insights and expectations.

  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

About You

You’re a CA/CPA-qualified (or equivalent) finance professional with a passion for performance, insight, and commercial impact. You thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy translating complexity into clarity.

  • 5+ years’ experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic business partnering roles.

  • Strong financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.

  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting analysis that informs decision-making.

  • Experience with Excel, finance systems, and data tools.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms like Anaplan, Workiva, Workday, or Power BI (preferred).

  • A proactive mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities with calm and clarity.
