About the team:
Responsible for the line of business profitability model including monthly reporting to Group Executives and the Board, providing insights on business performance. This role will be responsible for operationalising the model in Workday as well as working closely with Finance Business Partners to gather key insights and assumptions on the Group’s cost base.
The Commercial Planning team sits within the Finance function and is primarily responsible for the forecast, analysis and management of the Group’s financial performance. The team works closely with all the Lines of Business to understand underlying business performance and how this translates into our financial results. The team is also responsible for the production of timely and accurate financial data & information that is used by Group Executives and the Board of Directors.
What you will be doing:
Run line of business profitability model based on the ASX Cost and Revenue Allocation Policy
Drive input allocation process with Senior Managers and General Managers to ensure Group Executive approval
Work closely with Finance Business Partners to gain insights and ensure accurate allocation of costs
Work with ERP / Financial Systems team to develop line of business profitability within Workday
Partner with Product Leads and Enterprise Products to establish product profitability and allocation methodologies
Proactive involvement in preparation of budgets / 5 year-plan process, identifying opportunities for efficiencies, improvements and simplification
Any other duties as required by the GM of Commercial Planning
What you will bring:
Must have
Tertiary qualifications in an Accounting discipline and CPA / CA qualifications
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes
5+ years’ experience in management accounting including preparation of financial reports
Strong technical accounting, business partnering and analytical skills
Advanced excel skills
Motivated self-starter and disciplined time manager
Curious mindset willing to challenge existing thinking and work with ambiguity
Strong and effective communication skills are a given
Nice to have
Understanding of financial markets or exposure to financial services industry would be beneficial
Experience with project management practices
Good interpersonal skills and engaging manner
