We are now excited to invite applications for the role of Finance Operations Manager with our awesome team in Sydney.
As the Finance Operations Manager (Billings team) you will take ownership of a dynamic billing function that spans multiple business units. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll manage a high-volume billing operation, lead a hybrid team across onshore and offshore locations, and act as a key liaison between finance teams and stakeholders. You’ll be instrumental in resolving complex queries, driving process improvements, and ensuring operational excellence across all billing activities.
Core responsibilities:
- Lead a billing operations team of 5 (4 onshore, 1 offshore) across the dentsu group (Media, Creative, CMX, Gaming and Non-Media).
- Ensure we’re compliant; oversee monthly tasks and maintain adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.
- Resolve billing issues; act as the main contact for resolving billing, reporting, and WIP issues with agencies and clients.
- Reporting and analysis; prepare monthly billing reports, manage unbilled media exposure, and support revenue recognition and WIP analysis.
- Process oversight; handle out-of-cycle billing requests, media automation processes, and rebate calculations.
- System and integration support; assist with system upgrades, testing, and troubleshoot integration issues across finance platforms.
A bit about you:
- Must have an accounting degree.
- Proven experience in a team lead/supervisory role.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience within the media industry and relevant tools (Spectra/SMD) highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel capabilities.
