Working with the CFO and Deputy Head, Finance to define the strategic enterprise cost allocation framework for the Bank, enabling enhanced transparency of allocated costs and underlying drivers and assumptions.
About the business/role/team
Delivery of strategic and insightful finance partnering services across the Bank by partnering with departments to:
Identify strategic considerations and provide commercial guidance.
Provide timely reporting, in-depth analysis, and actionable insights to ensure financial decisions align with the organisation’s objectives and optimise outcomes for the Bank.
Drive sustainable process improvements that enable working in a simpler, faster and smarter way.
The role reports to the Deputy Head, Finance (within the Finance Department, specifically in the Finance Partnering and Insights Team) and will work closely with senior business leaders and Finance stakeholders.
About the role
Provide strategic direction and oversight to the development of the strategic framework for enterprise cost allocations, and how this is sustainably embedded key finance processes and outputs, including strategic planning, budgeting, reporting and forecasting.
Project Finance partnering – supporting a number of the Bank’s key projects, collaborate with project managers & leaders to review business case financials, ensuring accuracy of costs and benefits, and clarity of underlying drivers and assumptions.
Represent Finance in project/program leadership meetings, ensuring financial perspectives are considered in decision-making.
Delivery of accurate and timely financial reports, analysis and insights that support strategic decision-making.
Primary strategic liaison between Finance and senior business leaders (including Heads of Departments, Deputy Heads and designated programs/projects), ensuring effective communication and collaboration to deliver robust financial support and guidance.
Working, collaborating and coordinating effectively across Finance stakeholders (including business partners, project partners, and our data analytics and reporting team).
About you
Demonstrated experience in building, influencing, and maintaining robust working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, in particular, senior business leaders (Heads of Departments, Deputy Heads, and program/project directors).
Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth analyses to provide insights that support executive decision-making.
Proven track record in providing strategic financial guidance, recommendations, and advice on both strategic priorities and business-as-usual initiatives.
Deep experience supporting, influencing, and presenting to non-finance stakeholders e.g. project Steering Committees, stakeholder leadership teams.
Extensive experience with budgeting and forecasting and management reporting systems (such as TM1).
Proven ability to deliver results, think proactively and a determination to take action.
Strong practical experience in analytical reporting and the application of accounting principles.
Proven ability to coach and enhance the financial acumen of leadership teams.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in accounting
Qualified member of a professional accounting body in Australia (or international equivalent)
