About the role 
 

We’re seeking a Finance Partner for a 12-month Secondment opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership, partnering closely with our Technology and operational teams to drive sustainable, high-value outcomes.

You’ll join an innovative team who is passionate about applying Customer-Focused Thinking and commercial insights to optimise our investments, ensuring our technology landscape effectively supports the communities we connect. It’s meaningful, challenging, and commercially vital work.

Day-to-day, you will: 
 

  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor to technology and business leaders, embedding sharp Commercial Acumen into business cases, operational budgeting, and major capital expenditure plans.
  • Foster deep Relationship Building and Collaborative Delivery, partnering across technical, operational, and finance functions to align financial strategy with broader business objectives.
  • Leverage your AI & Data Literacy and Critical Thinking to build sophisticated financial models, evaluate complex data sets, and assess the financial performance of ongoing projects and investments.
  • Navigate dynamic project portfolios and shifting business priorities with Adaptability and structured Problem Solving, identifying innovative opportunities for cost optimisation and value creation.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 
 

  • Demonstrated experience operating as a trusted commercial advisor in a complex, matrix organisation, powered by strong Commercial Acumen and Customer-Focused Thinking.
  • A talent for Relationship Building and Collaborative Delivery, with the proven ability to influence senior non-finance stakeholders and translate complex financial concepts into actionable advice.
  • Strong AI & Data Literacy and advanced financial modelling capabilities (using tools like Excel ) to interrogate data, track capital expenditure, and apply Critical Thinking to business reporting.
  • A flexible mindset and proven Adaptability, using structured Problem Solving to navigate the financial lifecycle of large-scale projects, capital allocations, and post-implementation reviews.
  • A solid foundation in finance, accounting, commerce, or a related analytical field, complemented by relevant professional qualifications or equivalent commercial experience.
