Job DescriptionThis role presents an excellent opportunity to assist the Head of Business Management in maintaining our Finance business unit’s Risk Management Framework.
This is a 12-month contract role in which your primary responsibilities will include executing the Annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment, implementing the Control Assurance Plan, and managing the Incident and Breach Management process on behalf of the Finance business unit.
You will provide support and advice to the business in identifying, classifying, measuring, and monitoring their risks and/or compliance requirements and issues. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders to assess and document the operational and compliance risk elements associated with the current suite of change initiatives across the business unit.
In this role you will:
- Support the Head of Business Management in the establishment and maintenance of Finance's Risk Management Framework.
- Deliver timely Risk Management and/or Compliance analysis and advice to enable the business to be commercially successful and fully compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments on the design and operational effectiveness of Finance's key processes and produce timely control assurance reporting.
- Assist the business in identifying and formulating corrective strategies and implementation plans for key corrective actions and preventative controls.
- Support with the management of monthly Finance Risk Committee meetings including leading discussions and providing insights on risk matters such as Incident root-causes.
- Assisting the Finance team members in identifying the potential risks and compliance issues associated with their day-to-day business goals, including assisting with the incident and breach reporting process.
- Significant experience in a Risk Management and/or Compliance role, ideally supporting a finance and/or actuarial function
- Relevant academic qualification
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team member
- Strong written and verbal skills to clearly communicate technical issues related to the work area
- A sound understanding of the insurance industry, desired
