Job Description

We’re looking for a Risk Manager to join our Finance team on a 12-month contract. This role is all about helping us stay on top of our risk and compliance responsibilities. You’ll work closely with the Head of Business Management to keep our Risk Management Framework running smoothly and make sure we’re meeting our obligations.

Your day-to-day will include leading the Annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment, rolling out the Control Assurance Plan, and managing the Incident and Breach process. You’ll be a trusted advisor to the business, helping teams identify and manage their risks and compliance issues. Plus, you’ll work with stakeholders across the business to understand the risk side of any changes they’re making.

We’re looking for someone who understands risk within financial services, knows how to run assessments and manage incidents, and can communicate clearly with people at all levels. If you’re proactive, organised, and ready to get stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role you will: 

  • Support the Head of Business Management in the establishment and maintenance of Finance's Risk Management Framework.
  • Deliver timely Risk Management and/or Compliance analysis and advice to enable the business to be commercially successful and fully compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments on the design and operational effectiveness of Finance's key processes and produce timely control assurance reporting.
  • Assist the business in identifying and formulating corrective strategies and implementation plans for key corrective actions and preventative controls.
  • Support with the management of monthly Finance Risk Committee meetings including leading discussions and providing insights on risk matters such as Incident root-causes.
  • Assisting the Finance team members in identifying the potential risks and compliance issues associated with their day-to-day business goals, including assisting with the incident and breach reporting process.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in a Risk Management and/or Compliance role, ideally supporting a finance and/or actuarial function
  • Relevant academic qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team member
  • Strong written and verbal skills to clearly communicate technical issues related to the work area
  • A sound understanding of the insurance industry, desired
