Job Description
We have a unique opportunity available to join TAL’s Finance business unit as a Finance Senior Risk Manager. Reporting to the Head of Business Management and Risk, Finance you will be part of a Line 1 risk team who are responsible for supporting the Finance function to safeguard regulatory compliance and financial stability through proactive risk management.
This is a 9 month fixed term role, working flexibly from our Sydney office.
In this role you will:
- Deliver timely Risk Management and/or Compliance analysis and advice to stakeholders across Finance to enable the business to be commercially successful and fully compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support and advise the business to identify, classify, measure, and monitor their risks and/or compliance requirement and issues.
- Provide people leadership to one direct report including goal setting, development planning, and general guidance to support their success at TAL.
- Assist Finance stakeholders in identifying the potential risks and compliance issues associated with their day to day business goals, including assisting in the incident and breach reporting process.
- Coordinate the formulation of remediation strategies and implementation plans for key corrective actions and preventative controls, including obtaining relevant approvals.
- Engage with various stakeholders to define scope and impact of upcoming Regulatory and/or Legislative changes.
- Support with key reporting requirements, providing insights on operational risk matters such as incident root-causes.
- Develop a roadmap of risk and compliance activities and agree priorities with senior stakeholders.
- Keeping up to date on all key changes to compliance regulations and risk management policy, for example Finance obligations and requirements under CPS230 and FAR and support with rolling out Finance requirements.
- Implement and deliver guidelines and procedures within the scope of responsibility, reviewing their quality and efficiency and formulating recommendations for improvements that meet best practice and business goals.
- Support the management of mid to large sized Risk Management and/or Compliance projects to improve service provision to the business or act as a key resource in large scale projects.
- Manage information reports for the Finance Risk Committee, with relevant data to help management decision-making within the business unit and/or the wider TAL business.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field
- Significant experience in a Risk Management and/or Compliance environment or similar
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team member
- Relevant analysis skills
- A sound understanding of the insurance industry
- Computer literacy and a good knowledge of MS Office software
- Excellent written and verbal skills in order to articulate technical issues associated to work area
