Accountant

The Accountant will be responsible for performing and coordinating general accounting functions and financial reporting of Shift4 group companies.

 A successful Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a solid knowledge of accounting principles to analyze and prepare financial reports. The ideal candidate should be an experienced hands-on person who is goal-oriented, highly organized, able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Responsibilities will include:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting workings.
• Perform internal control processes to support monthly, quarterly and annual financial results.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation and related supporting documentation.
• Assist in monthly cost assurance and variance analysis.
• Perform payroll checks and related accounting.
• Perform quarterly VAT returns.
• Assist with the preparation of audit deliverables, financial projections and Board packs.
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
• Drive improvements and automation of internal processes and workflows.
• Support the finance function in ad hoc requests and reporting.
  

The ideal candidate will bring: 

• Be ACCA qualified (or in the final stages of their studies) or hold a Master’s degree in accountancy.
• A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience gained in an Accounting Firm (preferably audit).
• Conversant with IFRS accounting principles coupled with experience in financial reporting.
• Experience in and knowledge of income tax, VAT or inventory management is considered an asset.
• Ambition to enhance knowledge and skills in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications with strong experience in Excel.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to work diligently and on own initiative with minimal supervision.
• Ability to learn quickly and a proven track record in problem analysis.

Salary ranges are developed based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, such as internal job levels, scope of responsibilities, and external market data. The range listed for this position reflects the expected hiring range for qualified candidates and corresponds to the level and requirements of the role.

Actual compensation may vary depending on various factors, such as experience, skills, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Shift4’s compensation structures are subject to periodic review and ongoing alignment across regions. Additional components such as variable remuneration or other benefits may also apply based on eligibility and role type.

Salary Range: € 37,000 - € 43,500
