We have a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated accounting professional to join our supportive team in the role of Financial Accountant.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the purpose of this role is to complete the financial accounting for our operations, including assisting in the completion of monthly financial accounting and operational analysis to support business decisions.
Critical to your success will be your ability to communicate effectively at all levels along with the ability to adapt to change and transformation.
This is a full-time role based in Alexandria with Flexible work arrangements – work from home.
More specifically, you will:
- Assist with the completion of the month-end cycle within clearly defined timelines, including accounting for key areas such as revenue, remuneration expenses, operating expenses, accruals, debtors, cash & fixed assets.
- Support the completion of comprehensive analytical reviews across key P&L/balance sheet items and proactively managing resolution of queries.
- Ensure allocated balance sheet reconciliations are completed monthly with appropriate resolution of all reconciling items.
- Establish and maintain audit trails for allocated revenue/expense streams and balance sheet accounts.
- Proactively determine opportunities to streamline and/or automate processes.
- Assist with the integration of core billing systems into the general ledger.
- Assist with the integration of new practices and business relationships into the control framework.
- Provide support for the half-year, interim & year-end audit processes.
- Identify areas for process improvement to gain efficiencies and provide more relevant analysis.
- Work on other projects and ad-hoc work as required
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- Qualified CA or CPA (or equivalent) with 2/3 years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office capability – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
- Proven strong Stakeholder interactions: communication, negotiation & influencing.
- Adaptability to and management of change and organisational transformation in high growth corporate environments.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels both verbal and written.
- Strong technical skills and experience in Finance and Accounting.
- Strong excel skills.
