SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
The role of Financial Accountant is required to support the financial operations of our medical device remanufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost tracking, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills and a proactive mindset to support a mission-driven, sustainability-focused manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
Track and analyze costs associated with remanufacturing operations, including labor, materials, overhead, and waste processing.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and strategic plans in collaboration with operations and supply chain teams and other reporting and analytics support as required
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP), tax regulations, and internal controls.
Assist with fixed asset accounting, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting.
Prepare financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
Support audits and regulatory inspections by providing documentation and financial data as required.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within financial workflows.
Engage in and support adhoc projects.

EDUCATION/TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent professional certification (or working toward certification) preferred.
5+ years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated industry.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare manufacturing.
Familiarity with sustainability reporting or circular economy business models.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as ISO 13485 or FDA/TGA compliance (financial aspects).
