Job Title: FinOps Cloud Catalog Consultant and Process Lead

The Work:
Join us on a journey where innovation meets collaboration! As a FinOps Cloud Catalog Consultant and Process Lead, you will have the opportunity to be a Subject Matter Expert, engaging with multiple teams and contributing to key decisions. This role will focus on establishing long-range plans and forecasts of cloud costs and usage by identifying optimization opportunities. In this role, you will collaborate with and manage teams to ensure effective performance, while providing innovative solutions to challenges faced by your immediate team and across various teams. Your expertise in Google Cloud Build will play a pivotal role in driving impactful results. We are excited to see how your contributions will make a significant difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance systems to meet evolving business requirements.

  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing cloud costs and improving resource utilization

  • Conduct financial analysis of cloud usage and costs to identify areas for cost savings and make recommendations for cost reduction

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to monitor and track cloud costs, identify cost drivers, and implement cost control measures

  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending across GCP

  • Provide visibility and insights into cloud expenses through dashboards and reports

  • Define and promote best practices for cloud cost governance

  • Define and review technical requirements for integration, performance, quality, and scalability.

  • Manage IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) capacity with cloud operations teams and track associated KPIs.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cloud cost optimization to continuously improve processes and procedures.

  • Prepare and present reports and analyses to senior management to provide insights and recommendations for cloud cost optimization.

  • Develop and maintain tools and processes for tracking and reporting on cloud costs and usage.

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including technical and non-technical team members, to ensure alignment on cloud cost management goals and strategies.

Here’s What You Will Need:

  • Advanced proficiency in Google Cloud Build.

  • Ability to present financial insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Proven experience in a a FinOps or cloud financial management role

  • Minimum of 3 Years of Experience in Financial Analysis or Cost Management.

  • Strong Understanding of Cloud Computing And Related Cost Drivers. Familiarity With Cloud Management Platforms and Tools,

  • Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills, With the Ability to identify and communicate cost-saving opportunities.

  • Hands-on experience with GCP (preferred), AWS or other cloud providers is a strong plus

  • Preferred candidates who have experience on ServiceNow’s IT Operations Management (ITOM) for facilitating management and optimisation of cloud financials and software assets.

  • Strong experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and enterprise-level cost optimization strategies

  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and partner closely with Client Leadership teams to deliver intended business outcomes

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner (Preferred)

  • GCP Certified Cloud Practitioner (Preferred)

  • Beginner proficiency in Responsive and Adaptive Design.

Additional Requirements:

Security Clearance Requirement: Given the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens with an active security clearance (NV1).

This requirement ensures that all team members are cleared to handle sensitive information and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of security in our operations.
