You will act as a dedicated, trusted technical partner, taking true ownership of the client's mission to architect their future with Agentic AI and intelligent automation.

Position Overview

• Role Title: Forward Deployed Engineer (Agentic AI & Enterprise Architecture)

• Location: Nagoya, Japan (On-site at client offices / Hybrid)

• Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (正社員 - Shachain)

• Language Requirements: Native-level/Fluent Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent) and Business-level English

Key Responsibilities (職務内容)

As a Forward Deployed Engineer in Nagoya, you will bridge the gap between advanced AI capabilities and complex enterprise business realities. You will own the "Agentic Transformation" process from initial use-case discovery to production deployment.

• Deep Customer Embedding (Gemba-centric Collaboration): Operate as a dedicated, trusted technical resource embedded directly within customer teams. Understand their core operational mechanics to uncover, scope, and solve complex business friction points.

• Accelerate Agentic AI Adoption: Actively drive the adoption of OutSystems' Agentic AI capabilities. Champion "what to build and why" (not just how), turning ambiguous business problems into practical, high-value AI solutions.

• AI-Native Solution Delivery: Execute rapid prototyping and agile solution delivery by integrating advanced AI into the core of the client’s workflows. Prove technical feasibility, structure delivery timelines, and establish metrics to measure tangible business value.

• Executive Client Engagement: Lead transformational technical discussions and foster strong, trusted relationships with client executives, IT leadership, and operational stakeholders.

• Strategic Business Development: Partner closely with OutSystems Account Teams to identify expansion opportunities. Turn initial successful implementations ("lands") into widespread, long-term enterprise adoption stories.

• Global Product Feedback Loop: Act as a direct extension of our global Product and Engineering teams. Translate unique field experiences and localized Japanese market requirements into actionable insights to guide the global product roadmap.

Qualifications & Requirements (応募資格・条件)

We are seeking a rare blend of a highly skilled engineer, an agile prototyper, and a polished IT consultant.

• Forward-Deployed / Consulting Experience: Proven track record performing Forward-Deployed Engineering, Senior Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting roles within complex enterprise environments. Exceptional ability to build trust on-site with corporate stakeholders.

• Hands-on AI Implementation: Deep, hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and deploying custom AI solutions directly into production environments.

• Advanced AI Skillset: Strong technical proficiency with Agentic AI architectures, Large Language Model (LLM)-based workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and complex enterprise system integrations.

• Data Engineering Competency: Experience preparing, structuring, and optimizing complex enterprise data architectures (including unstructured and semi-structured data) specifically for AI/ML ingestion.

• Enterprise Governance & Security: Solid understanding of enterprise-grade AI governance, security frameworks, data privacy, guardrails, and local Japanese compliance requirements.

• Consultative & Problem-Solving Mindset: Excellent consultative engineering skills. Ability to confidently navigate ambiguous environments, treating complex enterprise constraints as a blank canvas for innovative design.

• On-Site Flexibility: Willingness to work consistently on-site with strategic enterprise customers in the Nagoya/Chubu region as required by the mission.

• Language Proficiency:

  • Japanese: Native or bilingual fluency (written and verbal). Ability to communicate technical complexities clearly and respectfully (Keigo) to traditional enterprise clients.

  • English: Business-level fluency (written and verbal) to serve as a primary bridge to global product teams.
