Join the Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in North Sydney. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will provide financial and commercial support to the Technology Centres of Excellence. This role bridges the gap between Finance and Technology by managing financials, tracking IT headcount, and analyzing software, mainframe, and FinOps/Cloud costs. The analyst is expected to provide proactive, insightful financial analysis to help the business unit achieve its strategic and financial objectives. The role requires building strong relationships based on trust and respect and a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and challenging the status quo.
What You'll Do
Financial Management and Planning: Conduct moderately complex financial analyses and prepare major financial forecasts. You will also track risks and opportunities and work with management and technology teams to prepare accurate forecasts
Reporting and Analysis: Developing a detailed understanding of actual costs (both labour and non-labour) and their drivers. You will also provide guidance to finance and technology managers to enable decision-making on expenditure.
Relationship Management: Building and maintaining effective partnerships with key stakeholders across Technology Alliances, as well as with local and global finance partners. This includes providing advice and guidance on finance policies, practices, and processes.
Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiencies and challenge existing processes to add greater value and improve the function's performance.
What You Need
Qualifications and Experience: Accounting qualifications are preferable, along with prior experience in Technology/IT Finance.
Strong resource planning and financial modeling skills, as well as an analytical mindset to reflect business drivers in your analyses and forecasts. Advanced Excel skills are essential, along with experience using multi-dimensional reporting tools like
Hyperion Essbase, Oracle Financials and Tableau
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to partner with various stakeholders and provide concise, meaningful financial information to senior management.
Experience with financial planning and budgeting processes, especially regarding headcount/labour forecasting
