As an FP&A Manager, you'll serve as a strategic finance partner to multiple high-growth startup clients, helping founders and executive teams understand their financial performance and make better business decisions. You'll build financial planning systems, develop forecasting methodologies, create sophisticated financial models, and translate financial data into recommendations that improve cash flow, profitability, and long-term business performance.

You'll operate at the intersection of financial analysis and strategic advisory. You'll manage multiple client engagements, work directly with founders and CFOs, and take ownership of forward-looking financial planning, business analysis, and decision support. You'll need to be equally comfortable building a complex model and presenting its implications to an executive team.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

AccountabilityFinancial Planning & Forecasting
  • Build and maintain comprehensive financial planning models for multiple startup clients.
  • Develop rolling forecasts, annual budgets, and cash flow projections.
  • Design forecasting methodologies and KPI frameworks tailored to different business models.
  • Establish financial planning processes that improve visibility into company performance.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Provide forward-looking analysis to support financial and operational planning.
Financial Modelling & Business Analysis
  • Develop sophisticated financial models across a range of startup business models.
  • Build unit economics frameworks and operational performance models.
  • Analyse financial statements, business metrics, and operational KPIs.
  • Evaluate revenue drivers, gross margins, customer economics, and cost structures.
  • Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Translate complex financial analysis into clear business implications and recommendations.
Strategic Financial Advisory
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to founders, CFOs, and senior leadership.
  • Translate financial performance into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and capital allocation.
  • Advise leadership on cash runway, financial risk, and operational trade-offs.
  • Support strategic decisions around growth, hiring, investment, and resource allocation.
  • Help clients establish financial frameworks that support sustainable long-term growth.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead financial review meetings with startup founders and executive teams.
  • Present financial performance, forecasts, and recommendations clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships across multiple client accounts.
  • Manage several concurrent client engagements while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Proactively identify client needs and opportunities for deeper financial support.
  • Coordinate with the FP&A leadership team to maintain consistent standards across engagements.
Project & Team Management
  • Manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables across multiple client engagements.
  • Coordinate work across internal teams supporting each engagement.
  • Maintain high-quality financial deliverables within agreed deadlines.
  • Drive continuous improvement of FP&A methodologies, models, and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable financial systems alongside product and R&D teams.
  • Support the development of internal processes that improve the efficiency and quality of client delivery.
AI & Process Automation
  • Leverage AI tools to improve financial analysis, modelling, reporting, and research efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive financial workflows.
  • Integrate AI into financial planning and advisory processes where it can improve speed or quality.
  • Validate AI-generated financial analysis and outputs before using them in client deliverables.
  • Continuously explore ways to improve FP&A workflows through technology and automation.

Colleagues

You'll work directly with startup founders, CFOs, and senior leadership teams across multiple client engagements, while collaborating closely with the Head of FP&A and internal teams supporting each account. You'll be expected to build trusted relationships, communicate complex financial information clearly, and operate as a proactive financial advisor rather than simply responding to reporting requests.

Skills and Qualifications

As an FP&A Manager, your vertical focus will be on financial planning, forecasting, modelling, and strategic financial advisory, while your horizontal focus will include business analysis, stakeholder management, cash flow planning, client management, process improvement, and AI-enabled financial operations.

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial consulting, corporate finance, or related disciplines, with meaningful experience supporting strategic business decisions.
  • FP&A: Strong experience building budgets, rolling forecasts, financial planning processes, and cash flow projections.
  • Financial Modelling: Advanced financial modelling skills, with the ability to build sophisticated models from a relatively blank slate.
  • Financial Analysis: Deep understanding of financial statements, GAAP, business performance metrics, and financial drivers.
  • Unit Economics: Experience developing unit economics, KPI frameworks, and performance models for growing businesses.
  • Strategic Finance: Ability to translate financial analysis into actionable recommendations around profitability, cash flow, growth, and resource allocation.
  • Startup Experience: Experience working with high-growth or early-stage businesses and comfort operating in environments with ambiguity and evolving financial infrastructure.
  • Client Advisory: Proven ability to act as a trusted financial advisor to founders, CFOs, and executive stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and relationship-building skills across multiple concurrent client engagements.
  • Project Management: Ability to independently manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables across several engagements.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • AI Fluency: Ability to use AI tools to improve financial analysis and workflows while independently validating AI-generated financial outputs.
  • Autonomy: Comfortable taking ownership, identifying problems proactively, and operating with minimal hand-holding.

  • Financial Problem-Solving & Commercial Judgement: Your ability to identify financial risks and opportunities, evaluate trade-offs, and make commercially sound recommendations that support long-term business performance.

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 3.5 weeks with us.
