Freelance Account Manager – Ogilvy PR (Consumer PR & Influence)

Freelance | Full-time availability required | November – December 2026

We’re looking for a switched-on, hands-on Freelance AM to join our Consumer team at Ogilvy PR during the Christmas period.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on getting things done, has strong media relations skills, and can confidently manage the day-to-day needs of client accounts.

We need a proactive, organised and highly capable PR professional who can hit the ground running and provide support across media outreach, campaign execution, and account management.

About The Role:

Working as part of our PR & Influence team, you’ll play a key role in delivering media activity during the festive season, helping keep campaigns moving and ensuring our clients and media contacts are well looked after.

You’ll be a natural doer who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves, building media relationships, pitching stories, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced agency environment. You’ll be available for some weekend work and work during the Holidays, as part of supporting a high-profile client to activate during this pivotal festive period.

What You’ll Do:

  • Driving proactive media relations, including developing media lists, pitching stories, following up with journalists and securing coverage.
  • Supporting the execution of consumer PR campaigns, activations, and announcements.
  • Managing day-to-day account activity, including timelines, status reports, coverage reports, and client communications.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and other relevant media contacts.
  • Identifying timely news hooks and opportunities to generate coverage for clients.
  • Providing hands-on support to the wider team and confidently managing competing deadlines.
  • Supporting out-of-hours media requests and PR activity across the Christmas period.

About You:

You’re proactive, solutions-focused and enjoy making things happen. You’re equally comfortable picking up the phone to a journalist, pitching a story, managing account deliverables, or jumping in wherever the team needs you.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in a PR agency environment, with a strong grounding in consumer media relations.
  • Excellent writing, pitching, and communication skills.
  • Strong account management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple clients and deadlines.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and the confidence to work autonomously.
  • The ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.

Availability:

This freelance opportunity requires full-time availability from November 2026 through to 26 December 2026, including availability to support media and client needs outside standard office hours.

Weekend work will be required on a roster rather than every weekend. Availability across the weekend of 19–20 December is essential. You’ll also need to be available to support any media or client requirements after the office closes for the Christmas break, through to Boxing Day (26 December). No work is required on Christmas Day.

If you’re a hands-on PR professional who loves media relations, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to jump in and make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.
