The role
We are hiring a Full-Stack Developer (Ruby on Rails / Vue.js) to build and maintain the SaaS platform. You will own features from the database to the browser: Rails models and services, JSON APIs consumed by our mobile apps, and the Vue.js screens our agency clients use every day.
The codebase is large and mature, and we keep it current: it moved from Rails 6.0 to Rails 8.1 in the last year. You will spend most of your time on product work, and part of it keeping the platform fast, secure and up to date.
What you'll do
- Build product features end to end: itinerary building tools, traveler communications, document generation, real-time travel alerts and AI-powered features
- Design JSON APIs and integrations with travel partners (GDS such as Sabre, Amadeus and Travelport; flight-status, risk and messaging providers)
- Find and fix performance problems: N+1 queries, slow MySQL queries, heavy pages
- Write and maintain RSpec tests, including browser system tests, and keep the CI suite fast and reliable
- Take part in framework and dependency upgrades and security fixes
- Review pull requests and write documentation for the features you build
- Investigate production issues with Sentry and logs, and support the team when clients report problems
Our stack
Ruby, Ruby on Rails, MySQL
Vue.js, Vuetify
RSpec, Capybara system tests, FactoryBot
Docker, GitHub Actions, AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront), Sentry
We use AI coding assistants daily and expect you to be comfortable working with them.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails on a production application
- Solid JavaScript and experience with a modern frontend framework (Vue.js preferred; React or Angular is fine)
- Good SQL skills: you can read a query plan, add the right index and spot an N+1
- A testing habit: you write specs with your code and fix flaky ones instead of skipping them
- Comfort in a large, long-lived codebase: you read existing code before changing it, and you refactor carefully
- Git and pull-request workflow, and clear written communication in English (French is a plus)
- Autonomy: you can take a feature from a loose description to production with little supervision
Nice to have
None of these are required. Infrastructure experience is a bonus, not a condition.
- Infrastructure and DevOps: Docker, GitHub Actions CI, AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront), Terraform
- Web performance work: profiling, caching, bundle size
- Python
- Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) in a product
- Security awareness: OWASP basics, handling personal data under GDPR
- Background in travel tech or another B2B SaaS
How we work and what we offer
- A small team where your work ships to real travelers within days
- Code review on every pull request, zero-downtime deploys and a strong test suite
- Ownership: you choose how to solve problems and propose improvements to the platform
- Based in Montreal: remote work, with access to a coworking space
How to apply
A few lines on a hard bug you fixed or a feature you shipped tell us more than a cover letter.
Our process: a 30-minute intro call, a technical conversation about real code, and a final meeting with the team.
