Job Description

As the General Manager of Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour, you will oversee daily operations to ensure the hotel's seamless and profitable function, requiring active engagement in all departments and effective stakeholder management. This role demands a hands-on approach and exceptional leadership skills to guide, coach, and mentor your team, fostering a culture of excellence. You will leverage your premium hotelier experience to champion the Pullman brand, lead a highly engaged team, and deliver a guest experience that aligns with brand standards while maximising operating results.

Reporting to the VP Realty & Asset Management, Accor Apartments and Realty, this position is ideal for a passionate leader with experience in fast-paced, city hotel environments, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of a prestigious hotel. As General Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Managing all facets of the property including revenue management, recruiting & training, customer service and achievement of financial targets
  • Leading and developing your team to ensure the hotel's profitability and success, ensuring an engaged team dedicated to driving positive customer sentiment.
  • Driving changes and improvements in performance and implementing strategies in line with business objectives
  • Creating and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, property owners, guests and regional shared services
  • Maintaining excellent product and service standards whilst maximising revenue and balancing expenses
  • Acting as a liaison within the local community, representing Accor and fostering community engagement

Qualifications

A qualification in hotel management, hospitality management, commerce or business administration would be highly regarded.

About you

  • Prior General Manager experience and a deep understanding across a range of departments and stakeholder management is essential
  • Previous experience in a Strata environment with strong Food & Beverage background to lead the relaunch of Hyde Hacienda Sydney Bar & Lounge and the plan for Q-Dining Refurbishment
  • You create environments where your team are encouraged and motivated to be their true self each day
  • Display confidence in your ability to cultivate strong relationships, effectively address challenging situations, and implement solutions that enhance service quality
  • Experience and capability to drive financial growth through skilful & thoughtful strategy
  • Comprehension of the key metrics that impact and grow hospitality businesses, using this knowledge to drive top line revenue and motivating your team to do the same
