Your New Role

Reporting to QBE’s Australian Pacific Chief People Officer, the GM Talent and Partnering will lead the HR Business Partnering and Advisory, WHS, Employee Relations, and Talent Acquisition teams to develop and execute best in class People strategies; enabling performance and success for our Australian Pacific business.

This critical senior role will see you develop and lead a divisional approach to the implementation of People strategy, ensuring that the team enables the success of QBE’s workforce, and inspiring a large team to deliver effectively and consistently. For the period up until mid-2026 the remit of this role includes leadership of QBE’s high performing Talent Acquisition team, which is an interim arrangement.

Other key accountabilities include

  • Develop and support the implementation of QBE’s Global and AUSPAC People priorities

  • Develop and implement an annual program of work to continuously improve the services provided by the Talent & Partnering Team

  • Along with the team, remain aligned with our external obligations and internal standards, focusing on delivering business and customer value.

  • Support cyclical People processes, ensuring they deliver intended outcomes

  • Lead and continuously improve a service model that provides high quality, consistent advice to leaders and employees

  • Coach and mentor the team, further developing the capability to support our workforce

  • Foster an accountability-driven culture through performance management and guidance.

Your story so far

This role will suit a highly experienced HR professional who has led both centre of excellence and generalist HR teams, with the ability to build and deliver initiatives that span multiple domains. In your career you will have worked within large-scale and ideally global organisations, and understand how to be effective across complex organisational structures. 

You will be a committed leader, passionate about developing high performing teams aligned with QBE’s cultural DNA. 

Other ideal skills and experience

  • Deep HR generalist skillset

  • Sound business knowledge and commercial understanding

  • Experience in successful implementation of HR Strategies and initiatives across large-scale organisations

  • Advanced knowledge of trends, best practice and future direction in HR

  • Ability to present to, influence and engage a variety of stakeholders

  • Experience in leading and motivating teams.

  • Excellent program and project management skills.

  • Knowledge of insurance or financial services products and services would be advantageous

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications will be looked upon favourably
