The Opportunity
We are looking for a creative, inclusive and passionate Global Marketing Leader to drive a holistic, global marketing strategy working closely across our three core sectors, Transport, Water + Environment and Energy. Leading a high performing team and working closely with the Director, Communications and Marketing I+E you will be the architect of our marketing strategy, from base collateral to strategic omnichannel campaigns, you will drive our brand in market and realise incredible results. Your strategy and leadership will enable our entire global team to feel connected, informed, and empowered.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Strategic Marketing Leadership – Define and drive the marketing strategy for the Infrastructure + Energy (I+E) business line, ensuring alignment with business objectives, client-centricity, and market opportunities through close collaboration with leadership and sector leads.
Deliver creative, impactful content – Develop and execute engaging, powerful marketing materials, campaigns, and content for a global audience.
Elevate brand presence & Thought Leadership – Identify and drive thought leadership initiatives, build relationships with industry bodies and media, and enhance the external visibility of SMEC and the SJ Group.
End-to-End Project Management: Lead and execute global marketing initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and achieve the desired impact.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration – Build strong, trusted partnerships with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment, drive impactful outcomes, and support strategic goals. Foster a collaborative team culture, working seamlessly with colleagues to deliver cohesive and effective marketing initiatives.
Lead and inspire a global marketing team - Empower, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, understanding and supporting their development and ensuring their success.
What can you bring to the team?

- 10 years marketing experience, with 2 plus years' experience in a similar leadership role
- Exceptional leadership, project management and organisational skills
- Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management - you will be a skilled and confident communicator able to connect with stakeholders across the global business, both face to face and digitally/via VC
- Proven ability to create and implement strategic marketing campaigns, perform in a fast-paced environment and provide clear reporting on ROI
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify broader cross sector opportunities in line with the core business objectives
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a lateral thinker
- A genuine team player and desire to work collaboratively with the broader team
- Tertiary Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Management or related
- Experience in the Infrastructure + Energy and Resources sectors or engineering environment is desirable
