About you and the role
Reporting to the Financial Controller based in Sydney, this newly created Global Tax Manager role, is a hands-on, high-impact position with full ownership of the group’s global tax function. You are detail-oriented, process-driven and proactive, with a positive attitude and a strong desire to continuously improve. You will be the trusted in-house tax expert, partnering closely with Finance and external advisers to navigate complex multi-jurisdictional tax matters and build scalable, audit-ready tax frameworks to support the company’s multi-jurisdictional growth.
What you'll be doing:
- Responsible for and primary liaison with external tax advisors, managing all global tax matters across the group, acting as the internal subject-matter expert alongside contracted tax accountants for Australia, United States, United Kingdom and German and expanding new international jurisdictions.
- Manage, prepare, calculate review and ensure accurate lodgement income tax returns, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), BAS, GST/VAT, Sales and Use, and indirect tax returns and compliance across applicable regions.
- Responsible for taxes for financial statement purposes including consolidated tax provision and expense calculation, Deferred Tax Asset (DTA) and Deferred Tax Liability (DTL) roll-forward for financial statements purposes, including ongoing forecasting and reconciliation to statutory accounts.
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of tax related software across the global entities (Our current ERP is Campfire and we are looking to implement tax software such as Anorok, Avalera, Taxwire, or similar by 1 Jan 2027).
- Lead and coordinate the Transfer Pricing Study, including policy documentation, intercompany pricing support and audit-readiness.
- Monitor and interpret changes in global tax legislation, research and assess impacts to the growing business and advise stakeholders proactively. Drive continuous improvement and compliance.
Ideally you'll have:
- 5+ years in a similar senior or tax specialist role with equivalent or higher responsibilities. Chartered Tax Advisor, Master of Taxation, CPA or similar preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience and understanding of cross-border transactions across corporate income tax, indirect taxes (GST/VAT), Sales and Use tax, FBT and international tax.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing tax provisions, deferred tax balances and the communication skills to translate complex tax matters into clear, practical advice for non-finance stakeholders.
- Practical exposure to Transfer Pricing frameworks, intercompany billing and preparation of audit support
