Job Description

As a Google Cloud Senior Solutions Architect at NCS, you will be a visionary technical leader steering the design and deployment by leveraging your mastery of DevOps and edge cloud solutions. You will serve as both a strategist and a hands-on builder, taking ownership from conceptual design through to successful implementation. By fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders, you will translate business challenges into robust architectures and deliver solutions that leverage the full potential of Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will also lead complex cloud and on-premises migrations, ensuring seamless transitions to Google Cloud.

Your technical expertise will be central to our success. You will champion a culture of automation, agility, and reliability by leveraging your mastery of DevOps and GitOps principles, platform engineering, and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform). You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through best practices and emerging technologies to solve complex problems and deliver tangible value.

Beyond technical acumen, this role requires exceptional communication and influence. You will translate complex technical intricacies into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences, building consensus with executives and inspiring teams. You are committed to mentorship, fostering a culture of continuous learning where our team can reach their full potential, driving innovation, and business success.

Why Join NCS

At NCS, you will work at the forefront of the Google Cloud ecosystem as part of a Premier Partner team. You will drive high-impact cloud transformation and large-scale infrastructure migrations, alongside modern Agentic AI and data initiatives that deliver tangible business value. We are committed to your professional development through our unique "Capability Fingerprint" framework and AI-driven learning platform, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous growth.

Qualifications

About you? You should have:

  • A proven track record - A minimum of 8+ years of experience in IT, with at least five years focused on architecting and implementing solutions on Google Cloud.
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end cloud migrations, including Rehost (lift-and-shift), Replatform, and Refactor strategies from on-premises environments (such as VMware) and other cloud providers to Google Cloud.
  • Deep technical knowledge - Expert-level understanding of Google Cloud services (Compute, Serverless, Kubernetes, Cloud Run, Networking and Data Services), infrastructure as code (Terraform), GitOps, DevOps principles, and cloud security best practices.
  • Preferred Technical Stack - Proficiency in at least two of the following: Python, Go (Golang), or Bash. Demonstrated experience with modern AI/ML pipelines (e.g., Vertex AI, BigQuery) is highly advantageous, as is familiarity with emerging Agentic orchestration frameworks (e.g., Vertex AI Agent Builder, ADK).
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in designing and building cloud solutions that strictly align with the Google Cloud Architecture Framework best practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership - Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly, influence decision-makers, and inspire teams.
  • Solution-oriented mindset - Passion for solving challenging problems, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional results.
  • Certifications - Professional Cloud certifications are strongly preferred. We value candidates who hold the Professional Cloud Architect certification and at least one additional specialty certification (e.g., Data, ML, DevOps, or Security). We recognise that deep, hands-on experience is a key indicator of expertise and are happy to discuss equivalent real-world achievements.
  • Consulting expertise - Experience gathering requirements, developing proposals, and presenting client solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in not only architecting but also hands-on building and delivering cloud solutions, ensuring designs are successfully implemented into production environments.

Additional desirable attributes include:

  • Industry vertical experience - A background in specific industries (finance, healthcare, Telco, etc.) is a plus.
  • Open-source contributions - Demonstrated engagement with the broader cloud community is highly valued.
  • Project Management Experience is highly regarded, and certifications such as AgilePM, Prince2, CAMP, or PMP are valuable.
