In collaboration with TransUnion’s Government Affairs team and business partners, this position will play a central role in executing and delivering on TransUnion’s government relations and political strategy.
This position will engage directly with elected officials and their staffs, industry associations, and other stakeholders in the advancement of TransUnion’s public policy and thought leadership objectives.
What You'll Bring:
- 8+ years of public policy, government affairs/relations, and/or policy development experience, preferably with in-house experience
- Public policy experience on consumer data technology, privacy, or financial services matters
- Track record of identifying and executing creative solutions to address public policy and government relations challenges and opportunities
- Experience working closely with and desire for high engagement with policymakers and staff
- Skilled at persuasively and diplomatically advocating complex policy positions before a wide variety of audiences

Impact You'll Make:
- Assisting and executing TU’s federal advocacy strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with key public officials and serve as a TU representative with key external stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory initiatives at the federal level impacting the business, and work with business leaders and lawmakers to shape legislative and regulatory outcomes.
- Continually build and develop relationships with key policy stakeholders in the federal policy space.
- Collaborate with and educate internal business executives and legal colleagues to understand and convey the impact of legislative and regulatory proposals on the corporation.
Main Interfaces Externally:
- U.S. Congress
- Biden Administration (i.e., Treasury, CFPB, NEC)
- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Trade Commission and other government entities
- Consumer Data Industry Association and other relevant trade associations
- Broad TU U.S. customer base

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.Benefits:

Pay Scale Information :The U.S. base salary range for this position is $142,500.00 - $237,500 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations.Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
