We have an opportunity for a Graduate Business Analysis within the Payments Settlements Department (PS) at the Reserve Bank of Australia. PS owns and operates the national payments settlement infrastructure that sits at the heart of the Australian financial system – the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS) and the Fast Settlement Service (FSS).
This is an impactful role with a key focus on the delivery of high-quality business requirements and functional specification documents for enhancements to RITS and other PS systems.
You will be working as part of an integrated team of IT application developers, testing professionals, operations specialists and business subject matter experts, and will be involved in a diverse range of projects developing skills and experience in the design and implementation of business solutions.
The role commences on 2 February 2026 and is part of the RBA’s two-year Graduate Development Program.
From day one, you will get the opportunity to:
undertake analysis of current business processes to identify improvements and efficiencies
create detailed business requirements and contribute to successful project delivery of key internal system upgrades
liaise and collaborate with Information Technology, other departments and external institutions to ensure business needs are met
communicate complex business and technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
Selection Criteria
Applicants must hold or be completing a degree/double degree with strong academic achievement in economics, business analytics, finance, commerce, business, information technology or business information systems.
Business analysis and project management subjects completed at university.
A relevant industry work placement, volunteer experience or internship providing professional exposure to Business Analysis or Project Management.
Exposure to coding/ data analytics.
Demonstrable interest in developing deep knowledge in Australia’s payment systems landscape.
Australian citizenship, permanent residency or New Zealand citizenship.
