Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Grants and Funding Specialist to support the team at Morse Micro in managing all aspects of grants and funding opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the government grants application processes, including the R&D Tax Incentive and new government funding schemes, a proven ability to identify and secure funding opportunities. This role will be critical in securing crucial government funding for Morse Micro as the company scales up to the next stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant and Funding Management:
    • Prepare, submit, and manage applications for the R&D Tax Incentive and other grants, including the National Reconstruction Fund (NRF), ARENA, and other relevant programs.
    • Ensure all grant applications meet eligibility criteria and adhere to submission and reporting deadlines.
    • Collaborate with technical and financial teams to gather necessary documentation and data for applications.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records for all grants and funding programs to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
    • Prepare and submit progress and final reports for grant-funded projects.
    • Conduct audits of R&D activities and expenses to ensure alignment with grant requirements.
  • Research and Opportunity Identification:
    • Proactively research and identify new grant and funding opportunities that align with Morse Micro’s strategic goals.
    • Monitor changes in government policies, funding initiatives, and industry trends to leverage potential opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with the R&D, finance, and legal teams to align grant activities with company priorities.
    • Liaise with external stakeholders, including funding bodies, auditors, and consultants, to ensure smooth communication and application processes.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Develop and refine internal processes for grant applications and compliance to improve efficiency and success rates.
    • Create templates and guidelines to streamline documentation and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in grants management, R&D Tax Incentive applications, or a similar role.
  • Proven track record of securing government grants and funding.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance requirements for grants and R&D incentives in Australia.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling grant applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
