The Opportunity:
The Group Head of Data, Analytics, and AI will lead and enhance data and digital capabilities across the organization, ensuring the delivery of secure, responsible, compliant, and ethical use of data and AI across the enterprise to drive transformation and customer satisfaction. The role involves overseeing the embedment of governance of enterprise-wide data and AI initiatives, data architecture, and analytics, balancing innovation and risk while enabling data-driven transformation.

• Work Arrangement: Hybrid
• The salary range for this role in New York, NY is: $342,500 - $513,500 USD

Your New Role:

  • Define and implement QBE's data strategy, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
  • Define and implement group-wide data policies and processes to improve data quality and governance.
  • Drive enterprise information, business intelligence, and information governance strategies.
  • Build strategic relationships and acquire emerging technology in the data and analytics market.
  • Accountable for the global data policies to enable data-driven enterprise decisions supporting QBE's goals.
  • Chair relevant group data and AI governance forums, ensuring accountability across the divisions and functions.
  • Oversee governance operating models and controls to manage AI models, third-party data usage, and data ethics.
  • Collaborate with divisional data teams, engineering, and digital teams to ensure governance enables safe experimentation and trusted innovation.
  • Ensure frameworks are aligned to internal risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice. Proactively monitor regulatory developments and assess enterprise impact.
  • Organize and lead a team of policy and governance specialists who act as assurance, owners and advisors to the divisional data teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data governance, risk, compliance, or policy related leadership roles.
  • Proven global leadership experience in complex, matrixed organizations (preferably within regulated industries such as insurance, technology, banking)
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and operationalized data governance and / or AI governance frameworks.
  • Strong track record of engaging with regulators, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving change across functions.
  • Experience working at the intersection of technology, ethics, and policy. Particularly in emerging areas such as AI, machine learning, or automated decision making.
  • Proven record of effective leadership, including team and individual responsibilities, building teams and consensus, getting things done through others, and working ethically.
Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience.
