What you’ll do
Lead the development and delivery of the annual risk-based Internal Audit Plan, ensuring a focus on technology risk, industry best practice, and evolving business priorities.
Oversee and direct audit engagements: manage resources, budgets, third-party providers, and ensure adaptability to emerging risks across Telstra’s operations.
Review, challenge, and enhance audit quality—upholding rigorous standards in methodology, evidence, and documentation.
Coach, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering technical excellence and business partnering capabilities.
Engage and influence senior stakeholders, providing actionable insights and shaping risk management strategies at the highest levels.
Champion continuous improvement and innovation, elevating the profile and impact of GIA within Telstra.
About you
Extensive experience (ideally 15+ years) in internal audit, risk advisory, or technology assurance, including time spent in a Big 4 professional services firm.
Professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or equivalent credentials in IT audit, cybersecurity, or risk management.
A strong understanding of technology environments, including cloud platforms, cybersecurity, data governance, and emerging technologies.
Proven ability to lead complex audits across diverse technology domains, delivering insights that drive business improvement and risk mitigation.
A track record of uplifting audit capability, through coaching, innovation, and embedding data-driven and agile audit techniques.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate across business and technology teams.
A passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to enhancing assurance practices in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Bonus points for
Big 4/professional services internal audit experience (Director or Senior Manager level)
Experience in the telecommunications sector
