Accenture currently has an exciting media opportunity in their Sydney office. The right candidate will join a fun and energetic team delivering a disruptive and new world media offering to market.

The Group Investment Director will lead the implementation of media campaigns and investments across all traditional channels. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving best-in-class media investment strategies, fostering strong media owner relationships, and delivering exceptional value and performance for clients. Critically, this role will also be leading and developing the investment team, managing the investment value program and assisting in the evolution of investment-focused technology for the agency.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing investment team across multiple media channels.

  • Develop and execute group-wide media buying strategies that drive value, innovation, and accountability.

  • Ensure consistent investment excellence across all accounts and media platforms.

• Commercial & Client Performance

  • Oversee commercial negotiations and trading agreements with media owners.

  • Deliver pricing efficiencies and value enhancements to meet or exceed client expectations.

  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients on investment-related matters, fostering trust and confidence.

  • Leading the investment value program to ensure delivery of savings

• Media Partnerships

  • Build and maintain senior relationships with key media partners to unlock strategic opportunities and first-to-market innovations.

  • Lead annual trading deals and partnership negotiations in collaboration with the trading and procurement teams.

• Data-Driven Investment

  • Leverage data, tools, and market insights to optimize buying decisions and performance.

  • Champion measurement frameworks and ROI analysis across all media investments.

• Governance & Best Practices

  • Ensure compliance with client contracts, regulatory requirements, and agency policies.

  • Drive process improvements, operational excellence, and knowledge sharing across the investment team.

• Team Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop talent within the investment team.

  • Create a collaborative and inclusive culture that values learning, accountability, and results.

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in media investment or buying, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within an agency environment.

• In-depth knowledge of the media landscape, including offline and digital channels.

• Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering tangible value.

• Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at the C-suite level.

• Proven experience managing large budgets and multi-market investment strategies.

• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and inspire teams.
