We are looking for a strategic advisor, confidante and ‘right hand person’ to amplifying the efficiency and efficacy of Rest’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO). A member of the Investments Leadership team, your role will be pivotal in translating the CIO’s vision into an operational plan, facilitating decision-making, predicting risk and red flags before they occur, and ensuring the seamless execution of initiatives critical to the fund’s success.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Strategy: Lead the development and review of the Investment division's strategic priorities, including objectives, KPIs, projects, and culture initiatives aligned with Rest's overall strategic direction.
- Advisory and Decision Support: Serve as a thought advisor to the CIO and Investment Leadership Team, providing perspectives beyond individual teams. Prepare decision briefs that frame problems, develop options, assess risks and returns, and manage stakeholder impacts.
- Operating Model Execution: Work with the CIO to develop and implement the Investment division's operating model and management rhythm. Act as connective tissue between the Investment division and other parts of Rest, including Finance, Data, Technology, Member Services, and Corporate Affairs. Manage agendas, track progress, and ensure delivery of strategic priorities.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare CIO reporting and Board papers ensuring strategic alignment and consistent messaging. Coordinate internal communications across the Investment division and Rest, and manage external communications including member/employer updates, thought leadership, and industry engagement.
- Business, Commerce, Economics, Law or Finance degree
- Investment Management / Superannuation industry background highly desirable
- Demonstrated understanding of CIO role
- High levels of integrity, discretion and diplomacy
- Deep understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a superannuation trustee
- Experience running a significant P&L
- Demonstrable effectiveness when operating at executive and board-level
