Job DescriptionAs Head of Data Product, you will drive the strategy for our Consumer Brands portfolio, encompassing Publishing, Streaming, and enterprise experimentation. You’ll work at the intersection of Product, Technology, and Business to identify and champion data-led initiatives that deliver measurable growth.
Leading a team of Product Managers, you will shape executive understanding of product priorities and trade-offs, providing senior leadership with strategic updates that translate technical complexity into clear business outcomes.
What you’ll do:
Drive Strategic Leadership and Transformation:
Set the vision and strategy for the Consumer Brands Data portfolio, ensuring initiatives are tightly aligned with each Business Unit’s commercial objectives.
Lead the data product roadmap through major business transformations, pivoting strategies to align with evolving company goals.
Identify and prioritise opportunities to integrate Generative AI and Machine Learning to enhance personalisation and operational efficiency.
Champion the self-service data culture across Nine, ensuring business stakeholders have the tools and literacy to make autonomous, data-informed decisions.
Manage partnerships with key data vendors, including contract renewals, re-negotiations and RFP processes for new vendors.
Portfolio Oversight & Execution:
Oversee the evolution of the suite of Streaming and Publishing data products including content models, consumer models, vertical specific platforms (e.g. NPAW) and personalisation capabilities.
Lead the roll-out and scaling of the enterprise experimentation platform and capability.
Champion the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders, using data-led insights to ensure the delivery of a world-class user experience across the portfolio.
Navigate large-scale programs with complex interdependencies across multiple engineering and product teams.
People Leadership:
Lead, mentor and coach a team of Data Product Managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation and tangible value delivery.
Partner with the cross functional teams to deliver data driven growth.
What you’ll bring:
Portfolio Leadership: Proven experience leading and defining strategy for an entire portfolio or business line, with a specialisation in Data Product Management.
Industry Expertise: Experience in media, streaming, or subscription-based environments centered on high-volume consumer data.
Data Domain Expertise: A technical grasp of data architecture, SQL, and the end-to-end data product lifecycle (from raw ingestion to activation).
Analytical Mindset: A data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to define and track consumer-centric metrics that prove product ROI.
Experimentation Experience: Demonstrated experience leading and scaling A/B and multi-variate testing programs to drive business outcomes.
Agile Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of agile development methodologies within complex, cross-functional technical environments.
