About the Team

The Group Treasury Team, which sits within Group Finance at hummgroup, are responsible for hummgroup’s funding, liquidity, capital and risk management.

We are a relatively flat organisational structure, and as a senior member of the team you are accountable and responsibility for your area of focus and will need to be flexible and able to take on additional and / or different accountabilities as required.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to define and drive execution of hummgroup’s funding strategy for the Humm Consumer businesses, which is focused on unsecured point-of-sale and cards lending, through various direct and indirect / white labelled channels.

hummgroup’s Consumer business has experiencing changes over the past few years as the product has pivoted away from short-term Buy Now – Pay Later product towards longer term (+1year to 6yrs) point-of-sale financing, and credit card offerings. The Business operates across Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, and Canada.

As the Head of Funding, Consumer, you will be responsible for growing the $2bn+ funding platform across a multi-product / multi-country platform, ensuring appropriate funding is always available to fulfil the business plans whilst lowering the Groups cost of funds, supporting profitable growth across its operating regions.

The role will be focused on ensuring continued access to a diversified suite of funders, expanding the source of funds, lowering the cost and ensuring you maximise capital efficiency for the Consumer business.

What Does an Average Day Look Like?

You would be:

  • Developing a forward-looking funding strategy to ensure the effective sourcing of debt to meet the funding requirements of hummgroup’s Consumer business across all regions, whilst expanding the breadth of investors and lowering the cost of funds.
  • Establishing and managing appropriate funding lines to support and grow $2bn+ receivables book consisting of unsecured point of sales loans and credit card receivables to retail consumers.
  • Driving strategic review and execution of funding facilities, private placements and potential public capital markets transactions across geographies.
  • Leading the initiative to develop innovative structuring solutions that provide the business with access to flexible and cheap cost of funds that enable them to seek new markets, customers and growth.
  • Develop a deep understanding of hummgroup’s Consumer business, becoming an imbedded and trusted senior advisor to the business across all their Treasury needs, supporting their continued growth and profitability
  • A senior leader in the Group Treasury function with responsibility for supporting and overseeing senior and junior treasury team members.
  • Managing key bank, debt investor, trustee, rating agency and relevant regulatory relationships.
  • Leading aspects of hummgroup projects, including the construct and roll-out of new Consumer products, and working constructively with all key internal stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Development and presentation of papers and discussion items for the Executive, ALCO, hummgroup Board and other Board delegated committees.
  • Driving and supporting data and reporting transformation on the portfolio, including reporting benchmarking and improvements.
  • Contributing to broader Finance Team transformation initiatives in a leadership capacity.

About You …

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Extensive experience in debt financing, preferably through ABS securitisation and other structured debt financing, with a strong understanding of capital / subordination structuring, documentation and transaction management.
  • Extensive experience in developing and delivering innovative funding solutions
  • Proven track record of managing and executing new funding facilities (warehouses), private placements, and public capital markets transactions.
  • Experience leading funder and investor communications and roadshows.
  • Experience across Global funding markets, preferably within ABS.
  • Experience in preparation of funding forecasts, cashflow projections, and asset pools with an understanding in interest rate and FX risks and hedging impacts to cost of funds.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build high performing teams and motivate and engage staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and appropriate tailoring to the audience with ability to develop and deliver Board presentations and papers.
  • Good strategic judgement, business acumen and dealing with ambiguity; and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and manage stakeholder engagement and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15+ years’ experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, and/or min.10+ years in banking, financial markets, law and/or economics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
