The opportunity

Lead the delivery of the QBE’s Group Sustainability Report and shape the Group’s sustainability reporting strategy in response to evolving sustainability reporting requirements. In this influential role, you will guide the organisation through regulatory change relevant to the Group’s sustainability reporting and drive continuous improvement in disclosures and reporting processes. You will partner with senior stakeholders across the business to drive high quality, compliant disclosures, act as a trusted subject matter expert to support strategic decision-making, and play a key role in building internal capability and strengthening governance on key reporting matters across the Group.

Your new role

  • Lead the delivery of the Group Sustainability Report and related disclosures, ensuring compliance with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), the Corporations Act 2001, and other applicable regulations.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of Group sustainability reporting policies, measurement frameworks, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Act as the key subject matter expert on sustainability reporting matters, providing guidance and insights to senior stakeholders, including executive management and the Board to support oversight and decision‑making.

  • Manage engagement with external auditors and ensure smooth delivery of assurance processes for sustainability disclosures.

  • Monitor global regulatory developments, assess their impacts on the Group, and represent QBE in industry forums and working groups.

  • Design and deliver training for Finance and business teams on sustainability reporting requirements.

  • Partner with Finance, Sustainability, Risk, Underwriting, and other business teams to embed reporting requirements into strategy and initiatives.

  • Build a high‑performing team culture, mentor team members, and develop internal capability.

  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, governance, and data quality across the Group.

About you

  • Proven experience leading sustainability or financial reporting in a large, complex organisation.

  • Deep knowledge of ASRS and related regulatory requirements.

  • Expertise in managing external assurance or audit processes for sustainability or financial reports.

  • Experience in establishing reporting policies, frameworks, and internal controls.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring and building team capability.

  • Experience implementing ASRS or similar frameworks.
