The Head of Knowledge is responsible for developing and implementing Knowledge Management (KM) and research strategies that drive a collaborative and knowledge sharing culture at the firm. This role ensures that the firm's collective expertise is captured, organised and leveraged to support high quality legal service delivery and operational excellence.
Leading a multi-disciplinary team of KM Lawyers and Library and Research professionals, the role champions KM, research, legal technology, thought leadership and a culture of knowledge sharing. The role works closely with practice areas and other stakeholders to ensure the effective use of knowledge and research resources across the firm.
The role is key to aligning the adoption of new and existing legal technology including driving the adoption of knowledge systems and tools to maximise efficiency and their adoption across the Firm.
The Role
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Partner, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a firm-wide KM & research strategy that drives innovation, efficiency, and collaboration.
- Engaging with leaders to promote KM and its strategic importance.
- Leading a team of KM Lawyers to maintain a central repository of legal documents, precedents, and templates accessible to all employees.
- Leading a national team of Library and research professionals to proactively support the firm’s needs.
- Fostering a culture where knowledge sharing and learning are prioritised and valued.
- Championing innovation, AI, and emerging legal technologies, collaborating with the Head of Legal Technology and Transformation.

Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
- Extensive leadership experience in KM within a legal environment.
- Proven ability to develop and implement KM strategies and systems.
- Strong understanding of legal practice and KM requirements.
- Proficiency in KM technologies and tools, with a focus on AI-driven solutions.
- Exceptional analytical skills to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A team player who can work independently and take initiative to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
