As the Head of Marketing, you will lead, develop and deliver the unified Qantas Financial Services marketing strategy, including Qantas Money & Qantas Co-brand financial services partnerships. This includes being responsible for planning, development and implementation of strategies to increase effectiveness and ROI of marketing campaigns, both acquisition and engagement. This role is a critical player in driving the commercial outcomes for Qantas Loyalty. 

You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business and partners to drive plans and leverage opportunities that deliver revenue for the business. This role is also responsible for the efficient running of the operational elements of the marketing team, including: prioritisation of work, managing suppliers to ensure cost efficiencies for the business, ensuring processes are managed correctly, and building productive working relationships. You will support marketing initiatives across the broader Loyalty business as required to role model marketing expertise and thought leadership to the marketing team on a daily basis, and to the broader business to support innovation and create new revenue opportunities. 

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • 15+ years’ experience in marketing, media, digital or related disciplines in a large/listed corporations
  • A thought-leader with a passion for developing innovative marketing solutions through the use of data, insights and experience 
  • Extensive experience leading marketing communications strategy and planning and implementing class - leading creative campaigns using external marketing and advertising agencies
  • Proven ability to manage large diverse teams, prioritising initiatives to deliver strategic & commercial returns, building culture and clarity in purpose 
  • Ability to maintain established and strong partner relationships while also embedding new partnership opportunities.
  • Budget management experience, as well as sound financial acumen and an ability to interpret financial statements
  • The ability to understand and overcome barriers to change, and the adoption of new ways of working and, at the highest level, the ability to create an agile culture that can continually adapt and change
  • The ability to influence and collaborate with executive management, business leaders and people in all functional areas, as well as external stakeholders in order to collectively determine superior approaches to the market
  • Uses multiple perspectives in driving complex business decisions. Considers all facts and alternatives to prevent decisions and judgements that may have an adverse effect on organisational performance or reputation
  • The ability to foresee opportunities and develop strategies that make a real competitive difference to the business.
  • Capable of translating marketing and communications actions and metrics to business results and measures of commercial impact.
  • Understanding of the market and operating conditions for the business, the competitive landscape and key customer segments.
