Gridsight is a Grid/ClimateTech startup accelerating global electrification and decarbonisation. We've built the foundational grid model and decision layer that enables utilities to unlock hosting capacity, accelerate flexible interconnection, and orchestrate DER at scale. Having raised our Series A from Airtree Ventures and Energy Transition Ventures, we are rapidly growing and seeking talented individuals to join us on our mission.

As Head of Network Strategy at Gridsight, you will be the senior technical-commercial voice for our ANZ market. You will be the person who walks into a room with a COO or GM of a distribution network, earns their trust, understands what's keeping them up at night, and translates that into strategic direction for Gridsight. You'll sit alongside our ANZ General Manager, owning the exec-level relationships that earn Gridsight the right to deepen our partnerships with Australia's largest and most innovative distribution networks. This role requires genuine technical depth, commercial acumen, and the gravitas to operate credibly at the most senior levels of the Australian energy sector. If you've spent your career in or around distribution networks and want to help shape how technology is deployed at scale across the grid, this role was written for you.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain trusted, ongoing relationships with senior leaders across Gridsight's ANZ customer base. Not just dropping in at key milestones, but continuously.
  • Represent Gridsight at the most senior levels of the Australian energy sector, ensuring we remain front of mind for strategic conversations.
  • Act as a credible peer to distribution network leadership. You’ll be technically informed, commercially sharp and deeply familiar with the pressures facing DNSPs today.

Commercial & Product Direction

  • Translate what you're hearing from network leadership into clear commercial and product signals for Gridsight. You’ll separate genuine strategic need from tactical noise.
  • Work closely with the ANZ General Manager and product teams to ensure ANZ roadmap priorities reflect what our partners actually need.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with our ANZ partners. These are strategic conversations that reinforce value, surface emerging challenges, identify where Gridsight can add more value, and reinforce our position as a long-term transformation partner.

Value Articulation & Business Case Development

  • Articulate, measure and communicate the value Gridsight delivers to our partners and their customers.
  • Develop robust business cases and ROI analyses that support investment decisions and demonstrate ongoing, quantifiable impact.

Thought Leadership

  • Represent Gridsight across the ANZ energy sector. Think ENA events, industry forums, LinkedIn, podcasts and other channels.
  • Contribute to Gridsight's reputation as the leading grid-technology partner for ANZ distribution networks, reinforcing our commitment to the ANZ market as we scale globally.
Qualifications

Experience

  • Deep experience in or adjacent to Australian electricity distribution networks. You understand how these businesses operate, what their regulatory environment looks like, and what their leadership teams care about.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted, senior relationships in the Australian energy sector. You are known and respected in this industry.
  • Track record of navigating complex, high-stakes stakeholder environments at the COO, GM or equivalent level.
  • Strong commercial background. You understand how to develop a business case, demonstrate value in the context of our partners.

Technical Skills

  • Technical depth to engage substantively with distribution network COOs and GMs on grid operations, DER integration, network planning and related domains. You back yourself to go toe to toe with technical leaders.
  • Ability to translate technical complexity into clear commercial and strategic language.

Commercial & Interpersonal Skills

  • You’re an exceptional communicator. Someone credible and compelling whether that’s presenting to a board, running a QBR, or contributing to industry debate.
  • Commercial acumen to connect operational and technical realities to business value and investment decisions.

Attributes

  • Gravitas - you command respect in a room of senior energy sector leaders.
  • Strategic thinker who can identify what matters most and focus energy accordingly.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of outcomes and operates effectively with significant autonomy.
  • Resilient and adaptable — Gridsight is a technology company not a utility. You need the resilience and excitement to adapt to what may be a very new opportunity and challenge.
Helpful But Not Essential
  • Prior experience in a strategy, market development or commercial leadership role at a technology or SaaS company.
  • Existing relationships with senior leaders at Australian distribution networks.
  • Familiarity with the Australian DNSP regulatory environment.
What We Offer
  • Join a rapidly scaling, venture-backed company at a pivotal moment in its growth.
  • Highly competitive salary and meaningful equity (ESOP).
  • A seat at the table as a core member of the ANZ Leadership team, with real influence over how Gridsight shows up and grows in the Australian market.
  • Flexible, hybrid or remote working environment. Sydney or Melbourne preferred, open across Australia.
  • Real impact on Australia's energy transition and global decarbonisation efforts.
