Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and passionate leader to join us as Head of People Operations, leading our People Solutions function - a team at the very heart of Nine.
This is an exciting time to come on board, as we prepare to launch Nine’s very first HRIS in early 2026. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in driving a successful rollout while empowering and supporting the People Solutions function. You'll be at the forefront of HR operations, focusing on HR service delivery excellence and data-driven decisions to enhance the employee experience during a time of significant organisational change and cultural transformation.
This role is all about supporting the build of a scalable, efficient, and forward-thinking HR service model. You'll lead a team that provides seamless, high-impact HR support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring our partnership and support to the business is accessible, simple, and compliant, to help build a high-performance culture across a workforce of approximately 5,500 Employees.
Please note, this is a parental leave cover until January 2027.
Day to day you will:
- Lead the People Solutions function (a team of 10), embedding HR best practices and delivering accurate, efficient, and practical HR services.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing consistent processes and optimising service models.
- Ensure governance of people processes to maintain compliance, consistency, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with the People & Culture leadership team to design and implement group-wide initiatives and align with Nine's overall people strategy.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to your team, fostering a culture of innovation and strategic impact.
- Develop and nurture team capability, including career planning, succession planning, and forecasting future talent needs.
- Act as a key representative in Group-wide projects including but not limited to HRIS implementation, championing change and influencing continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in a senior People & Culture leadership role within a large, complex organisation.
- Exceptional leadership ability to build and grow high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated experience with implementing and embedding HRIS and/or HR projects (Workday ideal, but not essential)
- A genuine passion for coaching, team development, and delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with commercial agility to manage change effectively.
- Previous experience in a unionised environment and the ability to analyse data to influence decision-making is desirable.
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field.
