This role will sit within Technology, Security & Payments and will have accountability for platform ownership of the ASX’s CHESS Clearing and Settlement platform. The Platform Owner S&P Technology at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) will oversee the transformational change and the operation of the technology platform supporting equities clearing and settlement.
This role is responsible for ensuring ASX’s equities clearing and settlement system are secure, low-latency, and resilient. Reporting to the General Manager of S&P Technology, the Platform Owner S&P Technology will lead the technical innovation and execution to support the performance and growth of ASX’s Equities clearing and settlement platform.
This role provides a great opportunity to combine your proven IT Service and Operations Management, Delivery skills, operational controls and technical skills to successfully plan, execute, deliver and run critical business services for ASX and its customers.
What you’ll do:
Lead the delivery of required technical and non-technical components including oversight and alignment of external components and necessary change management activities to ensure smooth project release and transition to BAU and the target operating model.
Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of ASX’s Equities Clearing and settlement platform, ensuring high availability and regulatory compliance.
Define and govern Clearing & Settlement platform operating model.
Manage a high-performing team of technology specialists and disciplines, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Monitor developments in the equities clearing and settlement industry, including regulatory updates, and ensure ASX’s technology remains competitive and compliant.
Develop and oversee the technology budget for equities clearing and settlement platforms, ensuring efficient resource use and alignment with strategic goals.
Ensure IT service management processes (COBIT) for critical infrastructure are in place and maintained.
Lead and plan the required platform and infrastructure upgrades, patches, capacity, non-functional testing and disaster recovery testing required to ensure the platform operates within our risk tolerance.
Lead effective IT service management through continuous improvement identifying and implementing process and/or control improvements through problem management
Effective and efficient staff management: individual development plans in place, cross skilling, adequate training, effective teamwork, project and support participation of resources
Manage relationship with key vendors, such as AWS
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience operating critical complex platform as a service technology within a corporate environment.
Proven leadership experience in managing low-latency, mission-critical technology platforms in a regulated environment.
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex technology initiatives.
Expertise in low-latency systems, distributed computing, and algorithmic execution for equities trading.
Familiarity with exchange protocols, market data systems, and risk management technologies.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and automation practices within exchange environments.
Technical and Business skills in transforming and operating a critical service in the Equities Clearing and Settlement are of service.
