The opportunity

In this senior leadership role, you’ll take strategic ownership of our data and analytics platforms, ensuring they deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing capabilities that power innovation. 

Your new role 

As Head of Platforms – Data and Analytics, you’ll lead the strategy, governance, and evolution of our data and analytics platforms. You’ll drive innovation and operational excellence while fostering continuous improvement, ensuring our technology platforms remain trusted, scalable, and fully aligned with business objectives. 

A day in the role may look a bit like this: 

  • Shape and deliver the overall data and analytics strategy, guiding priorities and investments to support business growth. Ensure platforms perform reliably, safeguard information, and create an outstanding experience for customers while embracing new technologies.  
  • Champion strong data practices across the organisation, building a culture of data literacy and creating a dedicated data analysis capability to enable smarter decisions.  
  • Lead transformation initiatives by working closely with business and technology leaders to align plans and deliver projects that meet objectives on time and within budget.  
  • Promote consistency and efficiency by setting clear standards and processes, driving improvements that keep systems fit for today and ready for the future.  
  • Foster collaboration and alignment across teams and stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and successful delivery of key initiatives.  
  • Inspire and develop high-performing teams, manage budgets effectively, and work with external partners to maximise value and efficiency for the organisation. 

About you 

You bring a strong track record of managing large-scale data platforms, ensuring robust architecture, governance, and operational performance. Your experience spans leading enterprise transformation programs and aligning technology strategies with business objectives. With deep expertise in program and project delivery, you excel at managing risk and coordinating complex, multi-stream initiatives. You’ve successfully built and developed high-performing teams while fostering strong relationships with senior stakeholders. In addition, you bring hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms such as Azure and Databricks, supported by a solid understanding of modern engineering practices. 

You will have: 

  • Strong ability to think strategically, apply critical analysis, and make commercially sound decisions that align technology initiatives with business objectives. 
  • Deep knowledge of data governance, data management principles, and platform engineering to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions.  
  • Demonstrated success in leading technical and analytics teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability.  
  • Strong background in managing enterprise transformation programs, driving change initiatives, and delivering complex projects on time and within scope.  
  • Ability to engage, influence, and build trust with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions to achieve alignment and shared goals.  
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields; DAMA Data Management Fundamentals (CDMP) certification (preferred) experience in banking, finance, or insurance is highly regarded.
