We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Project Management to lead our project management team while driving the successful delivery of key initiatives. This dual-purpose role combines leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring adherence to the Group’s Project Management Operating Model Standards.


As the Head of Project Management, you will mentor and oversee Senior Project and Business Analysts, fostering excellence and consistency in project delivery. In parallel, as a Senior Project Manager, you will directly manage critical projects—overseeing scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder engagement. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders will be essential to ensure successful outcomes.


This role is ideal for a seasoned project management professional who excels in both leadership and execution, driving high-impact projects while shaping best practices across the organization.


Please note this is a 12 month fixed term maternity leave contract.


What you'll do

  • 1. Lead the Project Management Team
  • Provide leadership to Senior Project and Program Managers, ensuring a high-performing team through talent acquisition, development, and effective resource allocation. Establish governance standards, reporting mechanisms, and best-practice tools to enhance project management quality and consistency.
  • 2. Project Management Excellence
  • Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring adherence to best practices in planning, scope, governance, resourcing, scheduling, financial management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement. Drive benefit realization and ensure high-quality project outcomes.
  • 3. Project Performance – Execution and Delivery
  • Support executive sponsors and business owners in achieving project goals by evaluating success across outcomes, timelines, budgets, and quality. Ensure projects meet strategic business objectives and performance benchmarks.
  • 4. Project & Team Leadership
  • Foster a collaborative and productive project team environment, providing guidance, conflict resolution, and prioritization. Lead Business Analysts, mentor junior team members, and influence overall project success through strong leadership.
  • 5. Service Delivery & Continuous Improvement
  • Enhance project management capabilities by staying informed on industry trends, driving process improvements, and advocating for the value of project management across the organization. Support team development and continuously improve PMO services.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business management, or related area of study.
  • PMI or PMP certification or similar from an accredited organization.
  • Advanced project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects, +7 years of experience.
  • Experienced People Leader, demonstrated ability to build strong high performing teams, develop talent and maintain engagement.
  • Experience using different project management frameworks, including waterfall and agile. HUB24 Job Description – Head of Project Management
  • Deep SME experience delivering projects in the wealth management industry, superannuation and/or investment product environment, preferably with wrap platform experience.
  • Experience with replatforming migration projects such as Successor Fund Transfer (SFT), Intra-Fund Transfers (IFT) and/or change of administrator/ custodian migrations.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery model, able to foster strong relationships with product, operations, and technology teams.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Advanced project leadership skills, proven ability to foster a strong project team environment, influence stakeholders across functions to collaborate to achieve the project outcomes.
  • Experience interacting with Board & Executive Management
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced environment, delivering complex projects on time, cost, and quality metrics.
  • Strong commercial skills, works with the functional leads to influence strategic and commercial decisions.
  • Employs strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Proficiency use of Microsoft Office suite (Inc Microsoft Project).
