The opportunity

We are looking for a Head of Regulatory Change and Compliance Transformation to lead the Regulatory Change and Compliance Modernisation teams. The role will be responsible for ensuring QBE achieves compliance with new requirements in order to safeguard our customers and preserve public trust, and supporting QBE’s modernization and transformation program of work.  In this role, you will be responsible for the Regulatory Change framework & strategy for AUSPAC, overseeing regulatory change and modernisation projects and playing a crucial role in strengthening compliance risk culture by embedding best practice compliance management.

Your new role

  • Analyse regulatory changes by interpreting new or amended requirements, assessing their impact on QBE, supporting the appointment of a Regulatory Change Sponsor, drafting obligations, and overseeing compliance readiness ahead of legislative go‑live.

  • Lead the Compliance by Design approach in QBE’s modernization and transformation program of work. Partner with internal stakeholders to design and implement a compliant by design new insurance platform, focussed on driving positive customer outcomes.

  • Be a key member of the AUSPAC Compliance Leadership Team

  • Lead the early identification of key regulatory reforms and obligations for AUSPAC, including embedding a robust environmental scanning process.

  • Monitor regulatory developments / trends, advise on implications to QBE and play a key advocacy role to ensure balanced regulatory outcomes.

  • Provide advice, challenge, and oversight on change initiatives to ensure they are proactively managed and implemented in a sustainable manner. This includes influencing key stakeholders to prioritise and manage change sustainably, assist the business in understanding change deliverables and impacts.

  • Be responsible for the governance of Regulatory Change Committee, which oversees the governance and delivery of regulatory change management, including overseeing operational implementation.

  • Contribute to Compliance and Regulatory reports for AUSPAC and Group board.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in design and implementation of regulatory change frameworks, and knowledge of financial services and insurance regulation, industry and products.

  • Experience in supporting large transformation programs from a Compliance perspective and agile ways of working.

  • A strategic mindset and be able to effectively communicate across the business to diverse audiences and focused on delivering practical and effective solutions.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.

  • Ability to understand and interpret the business and its operations holistically
