This newly-created Line 1 risk role will work closely with the General Manager, Risk and Compliance and in partnership with the Global Trading and Market Data (GTMD) Leadership Team to provide high-quality business risk and compliance expertise, support and leadership. 

In particular, you will lead the implementation of Iress’ Risk Management Framework and strategy at the Functional level, including acting as SME in relation to issue identification, incident management and assessment, controls, current and emerging risks and compliance obligations. This includes supporting the business to design and implement effective controls and day-to-day risk practices, to enable better business outcomes. 

This role will oversee with the GM Risk & Compliance all operational, financial, strategic, reputational, and regulatory risks, aligning required risk management activities and processes with GTMD’s objectives. 

An experienced Line 1 risk professional with an emphasis on driving best practice risk management capability, you will promote a strong risk culture within the GTMD teams to help the business to achieve its strategic objectives. In doing so, you will enjoy partnering with stakeholders and bringing a pragmatic approach to developing a risk-first culture and awareness in day-to-day business decision-making. 

Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:
  • Oversee the development and operation of risk management processes and frameworks 

  • Identifying, reporting and managing risks (as GTMD SME) 

  • Monitor regulatory developments globally; ensure GTMD meets all relevant risk-related regulatory requirements

  • Liaising with Iress’ Line 2 (Group Risk) function to ensure compliance with Group-wide frameworks and policies 

  • Driving business unit uplift and implementation of key programs, including in relation to regulatory change, business continuity and resilience, information and records management, information security, and cyber risk management 

  • Role-modeling best practice risk management culture and capability 

  • Promote a strong risk culture and risk ownership at all levels of the organization through training, communication, and engagement initiatives


 
What you will bring:
  • Prior experience in a senior Line 1 risk / controls role, ideally within banking or financial services, or within a professional services advisory capacity, coupled with strong technical knowledge of risk frameworks and terminology

  • Proven ability in standing up business unit risk management processes (e.g. designing and embedding governance, reporting and monitoring mechanisms, controls design and implementation, issue and incident management) and uplifting overall business-unit risk capability via training, guidance and leadership on risk / compliance management 

  • Previous success in delivering transformation / continuous improvement risk and compliance initiatives

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate and respond to emerging risks

  • Strong leadership and influence skills, including cross-functional and global collaboration

  • Team player, with strong collaboration, and project management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
