ERM is seeking a dynamic HR Business Partner, with strong HR generalist skills as well as an interest in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) to join our Australian HR team on a fixed-term contract, based in Sydney.

The ideal candidate will build key relationships with our major stakeholders, take a wider interest in our business of sustainability as well as being creative with HR solutions. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious HR professional to make an impact with a global sustainability leader in an exciting industry.

What you can expect to get involved in:

  • Collaborate with senior business leaders, the ANZ HR Director and broader global HR Team to establish HR plans and solutions to support strategic business initiatives and deliver measurable results.

  • Support the delivery of key people initiatives in the annual HR cycle, including annual salary and bonus reviews, performance management and talent calibration.

  • Analyse employee engagement data, draw meaningful insights, and provide practical recommendations to leaders. Coach managers on building engagement and fostering a culture of trust within their teams.

  • Partner with business leaders to identify, develop, and retain emerging talent, including Partners in Training and high-potential employees – by co-creating tailored development and retention plans that support long term growth.

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to define hiring priorities and develop offer terms, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.

  • Facilitate and deliver training to managers and employees as required (e.g., inductions and performance management training).

  • Provide HR advice, coaching and support to people managers and employees across a range of matters.

  • Lead and program manage the implementation of ERM Australia’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), working closely with a dedicated RAP team of approximately 30 employees across the business to deepen understanding of and commitment to reconciliation, and to embed culturally respectful practices throughout the organisation.

  • Collaborate with Asia’s DEIB Specialist to support the delivery of global DEIB goals, observances, ensuring regional alignment and inclusive engagement.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of employment law and legal requirements to mitigate employee relations issues and risk.  Provide HR policy interpretation and guidance.

Some experience you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business-related field.

  • Minimum 7+ years’ hands-on Human Resources experience with a proven HR generalist track record of advising leaders on topics across the full employee life cycle.

  • Passionate about their work within HR and DEIB and (preferably) the environmental/ sustainability space.

  • Ability to develop persuasive arguments by combining data, facts and knowledge with a tailored communication style to address stakeholder concerns.

  • Deliver messages with tact, managing sensitive and/or challenging scenarios, situations and people in a respectful and timely manner.

  • Able to work both in a team and independently to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and deliver results.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and any HRIS (familiarity with Workday in particular would be advantageous).

What we’ll offer you:

  • A genuine commitment to hybrid working.

  • A supportive and collaborative team that works together to achieve shared goals.

  • An interesting and dynamic client group that values the support and strategic advice of their HR team.

  • Quarterly Wellness Days and annual Team Community days.

  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program and the Calm app – your mental health is important to us.

  • Opportunity to participate in global projects.
