Freo Group is looking to fill the position of HSE Advisor to support one of our major contracts based on the Uungula Wind Farm project, near Wellington in NSW. This is a site-based role. As HSE Advisor – Renewables, you will be a key player in fostering a strong safety culture, supporting our business in delivering safety excellence across our expanding portfolio of onshore and offshore wind farms.

Freo Group is the foremost provider of crane hire services and project material logistics management in Australia. The company provides crane hire, heavy lift, project logistics management, oversize transport, materials handling, warehousing and storage with support bases located across Australia.

HSE Advisors – Renewables

Freo Group is looking to fill the position of HSE Advisor to support one of our major contracts based on the Uungula Wind Farm project, near Wellington in NSW. This is a site-based role. As HSE Advisor – Renewables, you will be a key player in fostering a strong safety culture, supporting our business in delivering safety excellence across our expanding portfolio of onshore and offshore wind farms. You’ll provide expert advice, ensure regulatory compliance and help drive safe work practices during construction and operational phases of each project.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and enforce site-specific HSE protocols aligned with Australian legislation and organisational objectives.

· Oversee compliance with statutory safety and environmental requirements through proactive monitoring.

· Perform systematic audits and hazard assessments to mitigate workplace risks.

· Act as the primary advisor on occupational health matters for staff and contractors.

· Organise safety workshops and daily briefings to reinforce compliance awareness.

· Conduct root-cause analyses of safety incidents and implement preventive strategies.

· Collaborate with external agencies and project partners to address regulatory expectations.

· Maintain and refine risk management documentation, including SWMS and emergency procedures.

Skills and Experience

· Cert IV/Diploma in WHS (BSB41419 / BSB51319)

· Minimum 3 years in a similar role in Construction. Wind industry and Crane industry experience desired.

· Incident Investigation Training - Taproot or ICAM certified

· In depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.

· Ability to work independently in a remote project environment.

· Must be eligible to work in Australia across various remote and regional locations as required.

· Demonstrated sound written and oral communication skills, including report writing experience.

· Intermediate Computer skills, including use of the MS Office Package
