Job Responsibilities:

At Modatek Systems, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist supports the company through various HR programs and systems to meet company goals, legislative and Employee Charter requirements.  The HR Generalist works closely with their assigned departments to manage the day-to-day human resources activities to support business objectives.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, or a related field
  • Minimum two (2) years Human Resources experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Excel, AI, and data management skills an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility in hours to support shift scheduling requirements
  • Experience organizing social engagement activities would be an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and uphold confidentiality
  • Knowledge of HRIS and Time and Attendance is an asset

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Manages full cycle recruitment for specified departments including on boarding Works with Leaders to source the best candidates following established procedures

  • Employee Relations
    • Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Address employee inquiries and resolve workplace issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Provides guidance, makes recommendations and coaches leaders and team members with respect to progressive discipline, performance management and the application of policies and procedures, Employee Handbook and applicable legislation
    • Manages the life cycle employment process for business group (hiring, leaves, transfers, layoffs and exit procedures relating to terminations, resignations and retirements. 
    • Works with business group to support manpower planning, training matrices and auditing training compliance
    • Responds to concerns and conducts thorough workplace investigations. 
  •  Performance Management
    • Support the performance review process and assist with goal setting and development plans.

  • Benefits Administration
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
    • Respond to benefits-related questions and liaise with providers as needed. 
  • HR Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data and creates ad hoc reports
    • Recommends, reviews, interprets and updates human resources policies and procedures

WORK AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office/plant areas and manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to travel for training and meetings
  • Schedule flexibility to cover demands of department and a 3-shift operation
  • Monday - Friday on-site
  • Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position
