We’re looking for a Human Resources Manager to serve as the Australia-based HR leader for our APAC region within a global organisation. Reporting to the Corporate Vice President of Human Resources, you’ll be the primary HR contact and trusted advisor to approximately 120 employees and managers across Australia and New Zealand.

In this role, you’ll provide end-to-end HR leadership and hands-on generalist support to managers and employees across the region—helping to scale compliant, consistent, high-quality people practices as the organisation grows. You’ll also lead and develop an HR Coordinator to strengthen day-to-day HR operations and ensure an excellent employee experience. This is a HYBRID role, and the successful candidate will be expected to occasionally work from our Sydney, NSW office.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the primary HR contact and business partner for APAC leaders and employees, providing timely, practical, and compliant HR advice.
  • Deliver end-to-end HR generalist support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, development, and offboarding.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organisational change, restructures, workplace risk, and consultation processes in line with local employment laws.
  • Partner with managers and leaders and provide training on basic management/HR skills, including effective performance management, documentation, conflict resolution, etc.
  • Champion regional engagement, culture, and learning initiatives aligned with global People strategies; partner with local and U.S.leadership to translate engagement feedback into actionable improvement plans.
  • Partner closely with the Corporate HR team to implement global initiatives at the regional level.
  • Serve as the HR Team's SME for APAC region concerning employment law, culture, and people norms.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, and recruitment strategies across the region.
  • Directly manage, coach, mentor, and develop HR Coordinator, providing clear direction, prioritisation, development, and performance feedback.
  • Prepare required reporting to government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation and coordinate APAC employment compliance with Corporate HR and/or external advisors as required.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of Modern Awards in accordance with the Fair Work Act, and ensure roles remain compliant with applicable Modern Award requirements.
  • Champion WHS for Australia and coordinate health and safety practices across APAC for a remote and hybrid professional workforce.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness and first aid arrangements appropriate to office and hybrid environments.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a broad HR generalist or HR Manager role, ideally in multi-site or multi-entity environments
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, multi-award environments, WHS legislation.
  • Experience operating as a primary regional HR contact in a global organization supporting a distributed workforce of at least 100 employees.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and modern collaboration tools. Experience with ADP very helpful.
  • Professional membership (highly regarded): AHRI; WHS qualification (e.g., Cert IV in WHS) is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively with global stakeholders and travel occasionally (Approx 10%) within APAC as required.
  • Capability to coach, develop, and performance-manage direct reports.
  • Adaptability & Resilience: Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced SaaS environment
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work with colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Strong Relationship Management skills: Building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal Communication skills: Facilitating clear, effective information exchange.
  • Must work well as a member of a team.
