Job Description

  • Lead state‑wide ICT operations across NSW, ensuring high‑quality service delivery, strong stakeholder engagement, and alignment with national ICT strategy.

  • Manage end‑to‑end ICT infrastructure and support services across multiple offices and project sites.

  • Oversee budgets, tendering, and team leadership.

The Opportunity

The State ICT Operations Manager plays a pivotal leadership role overseeing ICT operations across the state. This position is responsible for ensuring reliable, high‑quality ICT services, acting as the key point of contact for all interstate ICT activity, and driving continuous improvement to enhance customer experience and service performance.

With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, project delivery, and people leadership—supported by solid technical expertise—the role also leads the tendering process, budgeting, and forecasting for regional ICT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee regional ICT operations to ensure services meet KPIs, SLAs, and deliver a seamless end‑user experience.

  • Manage state‑wide ICT infrastructure—including hardware deployment, connectivity, smart meeting rooms, CCTV, and support services—across all offices and project sites.

  • Act as the primary ICT representative for the region, aligning operations with national strategies, governance, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Lead the ICT team, workforce planning, project delivery, supplier engagement, and tender estimates to support ongoing business operations.

  • Monitor budgets, optimise financial performance, and provide regular reporting while driving continuous improvement in ICT service reliability and operations.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • ICT support experience across complex, geographically dispersed enterprise environments.

  • Demonstrated success leading high‑performing ICT teams, fostering collaboration, and delivering strong operational results.

  • Expertise in ICT strategy, including planning, budgeting, service level management, and full lifecycle project delivery.

  • Strong technical capability across WANs, LANs, TCP/IP, network architecture, cybersecurity best practices, and Microsoft Server technologies (AD, Group Policy, DNS, Print Services).

  • Proficient in Office 365 administration, hardware diagnostics, maintenance, and server rack configuration
