About the role

We are looking for Security Officers to join our high-performing team working onsite at various sites across New South Wales. We strongly encourage application from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This position plays a critical role in protecting personnel, assets, and infrastructure through proactive patrols, access management, and maintaining a strong on-site presence.

Don’t have a Security Licence? MSS will help you get one. Our valued Scholarship Program supports you to complete a Cert II in Security Operations.

Working on a Defence site means operating to a higher standard, where your professionalism and discretion have a direct impact on national operations.
 

Your duties typically would be:

  • Access Control - Monitoring entry and exit points to ensure only authorised personnel are permitted on site.

  • Foot Patrols - Conducting regular patrols to maintain situational awareness and deter potential threats.

  • Stakeholder Liaison - Building rapport with Defence personnel, contractors, and visitors while delivering a strong security presence.

  • Incident Response - Reacting promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or suspicious behaviour.

  • Compliance Monitoring - Ensuring site protocols and Defence security procedures are always followed.

  • Reporting & Documentation - Accurately recording incidents, shift activities and observations in accordance with site requirements.
