What we can provide:

  • Two-year full-time program commencing February 2027
  • The program includes four rotations – the initial rotation of eight months followed by three six-month rotations. Three rotations will be spent across the diverse business units in Individual Life, with the option to spend your remaining rotation in a business unit external to Individual Life
  • Your rotations could include spending time in any of the following business areas: Retail Sales Development and New Business, Direct Sales & Marketing, Customer Service & Operations, Commercial Management, Risk, Change & Business Support and Individual Life Business Management.

Job Description

We believe Australians should have access to life insurance in a way that acknowledges their individual needs and preferences. The Individual Life team work hard to provide market-leading products and services to customers, whether they want to purchase a policy through their independent financial adviser, via one of our alliance partnerships or directly from us either online or over the phone.

During your rotations within Individual Life, you’ll have the opportunity to discover and contribute across our diverse business units, including:

  • Retail Sales and New Business: in this team, you will be able to get involved in working with financial advisers and Licensees in our retail channel, including Business Development, New Business Operations and Technical Advice Support. This business unit also looks after our market leading education platform, the TAL Risk Academy.
  • Direct Sales & Marketing: joining this team could see you involved in digital and marketing initiatives across our three channels, working to support our Alliances partnerships or helping to uncover important insights and trends in our Business Management teams.
  • Customer Service & Operations: in this rotation, you could find yourself contributing to enhancing the service and retention strategies for our customers and learn how we use data and insights to improve process design in the management of our in-force portfolios.
  • Commercial Management: in this team, you could get involved in some of our key features including pricing, data and analytics, performance and portfolio management, product design and development, business development, or underwriting.
  • Risk, Change & Business Support: joining this team could see you engaging in quality assurance and risk management, getting involved in operating our contact centres or working on a range of training or project management initiatives.
  • Individual Life Business Management: in this team you can get involved in the overall operating rhythm for the Individual Life, business planning and playing a supporting role in the strategic initiatives, supporting reporting and insights for senior management and delivering executive-level communications support.

Qualifications

Who we are looking for:

  • We are looking for graduates from a range of disciplines with diverse backgrounds and experience who want to build business acumen and leadership skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-rounded background with experience across community and/or extra-curricular activities.
  • Curious mindset, a willingness to learn how things work and a passion for making things better.
  • Leadership qualities developed through high school, university, work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
  • Initiative and drive, together with the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.

Who can apply: 

To apply, you must be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen or have Permanent Residency and have completed an undergraduate degree or postgraduate degree in the last two years or complete prior to the program start date. Please note, this is a Sydney-based role.
