What you’ll be doing:

  • System Reliability and Performance: Oversee the stability and performance of infrastructure and cloud platforms to ensure optimal uptime and user experience.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and uphold strong security standards, maintaining compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Cost Efficiency: Drive cost-effective solutions and resource optimisation across infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Scalable Architecture: Design flexible, scalable systems that support organisational growth and evolving needs.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Advance on new technologies and drive ongoing enhancements in infrastructure and cloud delivery.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop robust recovery plans to safeguard operations in case of service disruptions.
  • Leadership and Development: Inspire and develop team members, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate across departments to align infrastructure initiatives with broader business goals.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

  • Proven architectural experience in infrastructure design and delivery
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, tools, and governance
  • Extensive technical expertise in on-premise and cloud infrastructure, especially Azure
  • Senior-level experience in enterprise environments and infrastructure transformation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with networking, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), service desk systems, and SLAs
  • Relevant certifications in Azure, ITIL4, and cyber security frameworks
  • Experience managing infrastructure within government or enterprise contexts
  • Strong understanding of design patterns, integration principles, and enterprise-grade security architecture

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of progressive experience in IT operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • Must be well organized, responsible, and accountable
  • Must be detail-oriented, quick to learn and self-motivated
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and routing protocols.
  • Engineers must have good written, verbal and presentation skills to collaborate successfully with team, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, CCNP, CWNA/CWNP or PMP are highly desirable.
