The Opportunity


Are you a tech-savvy leader ready to drive innovation? At Macquarie Technology Group, we’re looking for an Infrastructure & Operations Manager to oversee our technical infrastructure and security team.


You’ll ensure our digital platforms are reliable and secure while setting strategic direction for our internal IT systems. You will also be orchestrating our service providers.


The focus of this role is to ensure that we deliver an exceptional level of service to our internal staff to ensure that they can be enabled to deliver exceptional services to our customers. 


This is an opportunity for a natural people leader who is passionate about technology. In this key role, you will drive innovation in our technical solutions and uncover new opportunities to automate processes and boost efficiency. You will also have the ability to be hands-on when required for technical escalations.

What you'll be doing

  • Cultivating and developing a world-class infrastructure and operations practice.
  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team.
  • Oversee system operations.
  • Setting the infrastructure strategy.
  • Manage budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Working with other departments to understand strategic needs and business priorities. 
  • Drive innovation through automation in new and existing systems.
  • Ability to be ‘hand’s on when required for technical escalations and management of major incidents.

Required experience & skills

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure operations
  • 7+ years leading IT infrastructure and operations teams
  • Experience with Microsoft ecosystem and Azure cloud
  • Strong technical capability and knowledge across both the Microsoft and general network/security ecosystem 
  • Proven track record in exceptional customer service
  • Innovation-driven, demonstrated record of automating processes and improving efficiency
  • Strong budget management and vendor negotiation skills
  • Exceptional communication and people skills
  • Ability to deliver impactful projects
